I'm in a quiet place. Happy, contented, and at peace don't automatically figure in the equation.
Just quiet.

Happiness, contentment and peace do settle in randomly, at varying degrees, just not all at the same time - it is too much to ask for that now.

It's oddly quiet to be here, and more odd that i myself want to keep it that way. I figured I don't always need exaggerating adjectives to feel alive.
Though admittedly, I used to like them exaggerated.

Oddly quiet, I take no one with me. Strangely I no longer celebrate joys, I live them . But even stranger, in my quiet place I only trust myself. That sanity is possible, even if i don't deserve it.

My first trip abroad: spectacular destination (check), plane ticket (check), pocket-money (check), accommodation (check), travel itinerary (check), travel mates (check, check, check, check)!!!!

Before jetting-off somewhere spectacular, every traveler has this in mind: I’M OFF TO HAVE THE TIME OF MY LIFE! Well, if you ain’t having fun or at least the epiphany you need, save your bucks, stay home, get your eyes puffy-happy!

Traveling is an opportunity to see yourself at your happiest, craziest, thriftiest, friendliest, cam-whoriest, etc…! Let me stress, that anywhere is a destination, when you’re with happy people!

Traveling can only get you so far, it’s the people your with that the makes the destination SPECTACULAR SPECTACULAR!

Nikki, Melanie and Pykeee…. As splendid as Singapore and Malaysia was…you put the exclamation points in those destinations!

Getting anywhere in Singapore!

My idea of an adventure is getting lost and finding your way! Seriously, what better way of discovering a foreign city than not knowing where to begin and realizing you inch your way to what the city really has to offer. My Singapore Trip was all about getting lost, finding our way, and the exciting discoveries made in-between!

Taking a cab is reasonable when you’re in a group, but not beyond midnight! They have night difference charges, which of course is understandable.

Taking the MRT or Bus is more enjoyable, promises a glimpse of how Singaporeans live their everyday lives, offers alternative views, time-efficient (assuming you have the whole day to do whatever) and most of all practical! A dollar more or less, depends on your destination. The Top-Up cards maybe used for both the MRT and the Bus, and reloading is simple.

These machines are user-friendly and besides people offer help at the slightest sight of ignorance / inconvenience! Signs are everywhere and anywhere, literacy can get you a long way in the city! And most, at least those that we were able to meet, had no problem with answering our queries, some were nice enough to offer clear directions.

Agreeably, the city’s charm lies in the efficiency of their transportation system and its people. You get anywhere with convenience and ease. Having a good time is not optional. Unless you’re a grinch!

Bus Stop!

25 years behind me, at this viably die-able age, I’m considerably thinking this is the major bus stop of my life! The certainty of wanting to be someone, yet not exactly sure who, what and how to get there. Two restless feet who can’t get me anywhere near Europe, New York, Vietnam, etc… I’ve daydreamed enough for wings to grow on my back (fairy godmother! Yoohoo). Seriously, crucify me for wanting too bad to get away, BUT I WANT THOSE WINGS, ANYTHING FOR THOSE WINGS!

richard quest on a different high?!?!

Traveling is my ultimate high on life! and Richard Quest my travel hero. I watch his show religiously...and will most likely take his travel advices, if and only if I'll live the same jet-setting life he has. I was fortunate enough to have met him in Singapore. We were touring the esplanade and he was there for the CNN summit on something. He was walking real fast and I was desperate to have a photo with him, which he willingly obliged. And I was like "Richard I watch your show religiously" and he was all smiles and half listening perhaps (of course he gets that all the time), he was absorbed on his cigarette!

Now, learning the news of his arrest on central park with self-confessed meth possession... I just don't know what to make of all the warped things crossing my mind.

The New York Times reports:

Richard Quest, a reporter and business travel specialist for CNN International, is being arraigned today on a misdemeanor charge of drug possession after the authorities said he was found with methamphetamine in Central Park.

The police noticed Mr. Quest at 64th Street and West Drive at about 3:40 a.m., the official said. As he was being escorted out, he volunteered, “I have meth in my pocket,” according to an official briefed on the case. The police searched him and recovered a small amount of methamphetamine in a Ziploc bag.

Mr. Quest is a high-profile correspondent for CNN International, known for feature reports and profiles. CNN calls Mr. Quest, who is British, one of the network’s “most instantly recognizable members.” He hosts “CNN Business Traveler” and a feature program titled “Quest” for the news network. CNN had no immediate comment.

What will happen to Richard? Will he get fired? I hope not. I wish him a good ride on this roller-coaster! Hope he gets professional help and overcome drug addiction.

And as Richard Quest's always puts it: Whatever you're doing in the next 24 hours, i hope it's profitable!

It's time for some celebrating! I filed my resignation letter last last week. After 7 months of not knowing what I really want to do with my life...hahaha I still honestly, don't know what to do with my life! But filing the resignation was like the doing myself a very big favor. Boredom is the most painful thing in my life right now! Well, actually the second most painful thing in my life. The ultimate heartbreaking fact of my life is not having enough dough to travel!

Bored and unhappy! Im too young to be bored and unhappy! in less than a month I could end up unemployed...and right now, COULD has no weight on me!

Anyhooooo...enough with the negativities! I passed the NEDA Technical exam! Yehey! its a biggie for me..you see my transcript says i settle wid 3's and i have this chronic love-affair with 5! I was expecting the exam to be difficult, and i wasn't disappointed! Difficult but manageable what compounded my misery was the limited time given and worse the questionnaires provided were over-used and difficult to read. Passing the exam felt like I deserved every inch of my BS Economics diploma!

Hay!!! 2 weeks to freedom! 2 weeks never tasted this sweet! labaw pa jud sa sweldo!!




















I came to celebrate...and Pepper and pepper was just the right place for that!

Destination: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Our Malaysia sojourn was borne of the need to get my passport stamped as many times possible. We were trying to get bus seats en route to malaysia, unfortunately we were bound to suffer...Oh!the agony of a 24-hour train ride!The cheap fare rates we got for the train ride was no bargain...my patience was stretched ten times the length of the petronas tower. And if that wasn't enough torture, arriving at Petronas Tower the sign read: Close on Mondays! And it was freaking monday morning! But the GODs knowing we suffered enough during the train ride decided better! Mondays are regularly closed for the Petronas Tower except during holidays!and a holiday it was! The tower was everything I expected it to be...

The sordid details of the train ride won't stop me from coming back to malaysia...
